At the 2024 World Team Walking Championship, Ukrainian Hanna Shevchuk finished in the top 15 athletes at the 20 km distance with a time of 1:32:04. After the finish, the athlete shared her impressions of the competition with readers of the FLAU website.

“Since there were problems with my leg after the championship of Ukraine, I had to train less intensively,” says Hanna Shevchuk. – However, we did not stop, we held a gathering in Kyrgyzstan, where I tried to fulfill all the tasks. But it’s not the first year I’ve had problems with my leg, so before the start, they reminded me of themselves again.

I am 50 percent satisfied with the result, because I could go faster. However, the judges “didn’t like” me and already at the tenth kilometer I received two cards from them. After that, I had to save a lot in order to avoid the third and, God forbid, the fourth card, and with it the disqualification. I already had such an experience at the European Championship in Munich, and I definitely would not like it to be repeated.

After three or four kilometers, I saw that the judges no longer had any questions for me, so I tried to speed up again. Actually, this is the reason for this result. On the one hand, he is average. On the other hand, not so bad, because at the championship of Ukraine it was 1:35 o’clock.

We will continue to work. Perhaps I will perform on May 25 in Slovakia, and after that we will see how everything will turn out.”
